To service diagnose and repair today's vehicles it is very important to have equipment that can cope with modern systems and information systems that will assist the technician when fault finding. The following information will give you an insight into our commitment to achieving the best possible customer service that we can offer.
We use a diagnostic tablet PC called "Proxia 2"and "Proxia 3" for all our diagnosis requirements to Citroen/Peugeot vehicles. This allows ourselves to offer our customers the complete care package for their Citroen vehicle,the software is upgraded on a quaterly basis to keep pace with modern vehicle technology. We are already equipped for all the very latest Citroen vehicles so you have piece of mind knowing that up to date diagnostic equipment is used to maintain and diagnose your vehicle. We now also have the Citroen "Proxia 3" diagnostic tool which is up to date for all Citroen vehicles to late 2009 and we can also carry out software upgrades to many systems.
For all other vehicles we use the "Auto Diagnos" diagnostic station, this allows us major coverage of many vehicle systems as close to the manufacturers systems as possible. We are updated by Auto Diagnos on a quartely basis, again to allow us to keep pace with the electronic systems. This test equipment is also used for the majority of European vehicle makes in the UK today and allows us to offer vehicle diagnostics very close to the manufacturers own diagnostic test equipment.

For multi make vehicles we have again invested in the new Bosch KTS 340 Tablet PC.This new diagnosis tool covers 94% of all UK vehicles.
The software allows instant communication with a vehicles electronic systems such as Engine Management/Anti Lock Braking ETC.ALso the software has integrated diagnosis technical information which allows the technician to have at his finger tips the technical information for the particular system he is working on.
This ensures your vehicles fault is very quickly evaluated and we ensure we keep you updated with what procedures or tests are needed to fault trace and fix the vehicle,a first correct fix is always our goal for our customers.
This new Diagnosis tool also has 'pass thru' technology.Since November 2009 it has become law for all car maufacturers to make available via the internet any computer software updates or software repair issues for a vehicles computer systems(of which modern vehicles have many).
But what does this mean to you the motorist?It means that sometimes a vehicle fault that illuminates an instrument warning light such as an engine management check light can be caused by a computer software error or issue!
So as these vehicles in 3 years time become main stream vehicles independent workshops will have to be ready to access these software updates.
We are already aware of this now and have invested with Bosch this year for this future technology.Our workshop already has a computer network installed so that when these issues arise we can via the internet access the reccomended updates that are provided by each vehicle manufacturer.
They will be chargeable updates(the manufacturer creating the charge)but updating a vehicles computer software can fix many customer complaints.
What happens if a vehicle has a software error causing the problem and the workshop is not aware or prepared??Well it will mean fruitless fault trace time will be spent on the vehicle and possibly components replaced at the customers expense but the fault will still re appear either immediatley or over time.

We use the very latest Bosch emissions analysers for petrol and diesel vehicles.
Our final tests after a diagnosis and repair to engine management systems is to ensure that the vehicles catalytic convertor(petrol engines) is now operating properly and converting the harmfull gases ensuring as drivers we stay green! This test also confirms the vehicle is fueling correctly,this confirms for ourselves that a complete and satisfactory diagnosis and repair has been achieved for our customer and that we are happy to now present it back to them in full working order.
Due to vehicle technology increasing very rapidly we have also invested in "Oscilloscope" testing. This has been achieved by using a "Pico Automotive" laptop based Oscilloscope to test component live signals, this piece of equipment is becoming more and more essential for testing electronic components correctly. Many vehicle systems use sensors that have very fast signals and it is now necessary to be able to test such signals on a 'live' basis. The Picoscope has the ability to test automotive sensor components very accurately, it is also portable and gives ourselves another option for testing and diagnosing vehicles on the road.
Further investment in 2006 has seen us concentrate on offering our Fiat customers even more depth in being able to offer full manufacturer diagnostic facilities to the Fiat marque. The Fiat Examiner Star Diagnosis tool is capable of connecting to all Fiat vehicles to model year 2009. This means we have the capability to service your new Fiat vehicle whilst under manufacturers guarantee and we are able to carry out 100% diagnosis as part of the service schedule. This tool also strengthens our depth of coverage for all other Fiat vehicles regardless of their age.
Due to complexity and fast pace of vehicle technology we have improved our ability to trace faults with this "Fluke 190c Colour Scopemeter". This Osciloscope allows us to test components very accurately and also unlike other Scopemeters the speed at which this scope captures live signals also ensures we are ready to tackle any vehicle system faults on the very latest vehicles. Once again improving our position as an independent repairer to offering the best service available for your vehicle
It is virtually impossible to repair a modern vehicle without accurate service and technical information to hand for the technician. We use Auto Data and Bosch ESI electronic information systems which again are constantly upgraded. These information systems are a DVD format and allow us instant access to technical and service information on all vehicle types, we also have thousands of wiring diagrams within the information for engine management/anti lock brakes/srs and many convenience systems such as electric windows and air-con to name but a few!

We also use Auto Data technical information, this is again in DVD format and it contains all our general technical information for all vehicle types. We also use it for all vehicles requiring a 'manufacturers scheduled service' as its contents are fully up to date with all the manufacturers service schedules, this allows us to ensure that new vehicles are serviced correctly and a printed copy of the service checklist is also provided for your records.
